George has represented the villages of Northern Cherwell on Oxfordshire County Council for almost 20 years and on Cherwell District Council for some 35 years. He is a passionate believer in local Government being readily accessible and delivering services quickly and efficiently. He thoroughly enjoys working with the 22 Parish Councils he represents, helping them to deliver on the issues that matter to them most. As a County Councillor, he acts as a backbencher working to ensure that as many County functions as possible continue to be delivered locally. As Deputy Leader of Cherwell District Council, his main responsibility is leisure and sports provision. He was instrumental in the delivery of both the rebuilt Spiceball Leisure Centre in Banbury and the new £5 million Whitelands Farm Sports Village in South Bicester.
