Arash was first elected onto Banbury Town Council in May 2016. Being the representative of a Ward mostly compromised of new housing, Arash is keen to work with colleagues to ensure that new residents feel fully integrated into the town. Arash himself lives locally with his wife and two young sons. He is also a County Councillor and has fought passionately to represent the concerns of local residents in County Hall on a range of issues from potholes to infrastructure and the Horton General Hospital. He was instrumental in getting Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust’s (OUHFT) decision to suspend obstetric services at the Horton referred to the then Secretary of State for Health, the Jeremy Hunt. He continues to be committed to the Horton cause as the Chairman of Oxfordshire's Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HOSC) and Chairman of the Horton Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HHOSC) both of which play a vital role in holding the Trust and the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to account.
