It is with great sadness that North Oxfordshire Conservative Association has learnt that Keith Mitchell CBE has passed away after a determined fight with cancer. Keith was a longstanding Conservative Party member and a former Association Officer. He lived a life of public service having represented the Bloxham Division on Oxfordshire County Council for 24 years and serving as Leader of the Council from 2001 to 2012. He had two separate spells on Adderbury Parish Council, first from 1988 to 2008, and again, from January 2017 until his death. He was appointed a CBE in Her Majesty The Queen's Birthday Honours in June 2007 for his services to Local Government.
Outside of politics, Keith was involved in numerous community organisations including Friends of the Community of Adderbury Library and The Mill Arts Centre Trust where his Chairmanship helped to turn around the fortunes of this much-loved local asset.
Our thoughts are Keith’s wife Lynda, his family, friends, and former colleagues at this difficult time.
