The former chairman of the North Oxfordshire Conservative Federation, Ian Hudspeth, has passed away following a long illness.
Councillor emeritus Hudspeth served on both West Oxfordshire District Council and led Oxfordshire Country Council from May 2012 to May 2021. He was first elected as a county councillor in 2005 and served until he lost his seat in the 2021 elections.
NOCF Chairman, John Colgrave, said,
“The death of Ian Hudspeth is a great loss to NOCF. He was a past chairman of this Association and loyally served as an officer for many years. He will be greatly missed not only for his dedication but also for his wise counsel and leadership.”
Thames Valley Police Crime & Community Commissioner Matthew Barber said,
“It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Ian Hudspeth. A dedicated public servant who served Oxfordshire County Council for many years, Ian always demonstrated a profound commitment to the community he served. He will be deeply missed.”
